Move More Solids.
Waste Less Water.
Have a difficult mining slurry or tailings application? Let our engineers review the material, solids concentration, particle size, slurry density, flow, TDH, discharge distance, elevation, available power and deployment method—and help determine the right pump and system configuration.
Built for abrasive, high-solids slurry, difficult material and demanding mining duty cycles.

PLANT + MINE OPERATIONS
Keep Throughput Moving
When the pumping system cannot keep up with the material, the impact reaches the rest of the operation. Review the slurry, production target and transfer conditions so the pumping system supports—not limits—the production plan.

MAINTENANCE + RELIABILITY
Reduce Repeat Maintenance
Wear, clogging, service intervals, access, spare parts and unplanned downtime all affect lifecycle cost. Evaluate the actual solids-handling duty before repeat failures become part of normal maintenance.

PROCESS + TAILINGS ENGINEERING
Prove the Application Fit
Bring the slurry SG, solids %, particle size, viscosity, flow, TDH, pipeline, elevation, available power and duty cycle. We’ll work through the pump and system requirements around the actual material.

CAPITAL PROJECTS + PROCUREMENT
Buy Around Project Risk
Pump price matters. So do production risk, equipment standardization, serviceability, delivery, support, power, pipeline and lifecycle maintenance. Start with an application-based requirement before comparing equipment.
In EDDY Pump’s published Rio Tinto red-mud application, a 10-inch EDDY Pump moved highly viscous bauxite residue measured at around 40% solids and more than 1,000 cP.
EDDY reports that the system moved more than 500,000 cubic yards, maintained approximately 1,200 GPM and pumped the material over a distance greater than 1.5 miles.

When Is Your Next Slurry or Tailings Project?
A Different Pump Geometry for Dense, Abrasive Slurry
EDDY Pump uses a recessed open-rotor design with wide internal clearances. For dense slurry, abrasive particles and oversized solids, the design is intended to give material a less restrictive path through the pump and reduce sensitivity to clogging and close-tolerance wear mechanisms.
Final performance still depends on the complete duty point, so the pump and pipeline should be reviewed together.

Where the Application Review Can Start
Different mining applications create different pumping requirements. Start with the material, transfer conditions and production target, then review the system around the actual duty.
Scale the Pump Platform to the Duty
The current EDDY Pump slurry-pump family spans multiple sizes and configurations for solids-handling applications.
The 16-inch HD-16000 platform, for example, is listed at 10,000–13,000 GPM, solids handling up to 15 inches and 40–70% solids by weight.
Model selection must be confirmed against the actual slurry, TDH, pipeline, available power and duty cycle.

HISTORICAL PROJECT PROOF | COAL TAILINGS
90,000 Cubic Yards Pumped About 4,200 Feet
In an EDDY Pump historical project summary, approximately 90,000 cubic yards of coal tailings were pumped about 4,200 feet without a booster pump while operating 24 hours per day, six days per week.
The published summary reported 40–80% solids by volume at discharge.

Bring Us the Slurry Application
A useful pump recommendation starts with the job, not the catalog.
Send us what you know about the material, solids concentration, slurry density, particle size, production target, TDH, discharge distance, elevation, available power and site constraints.
Our team can help identify missing inputs and review the pump and system requirements.
Have limited data?
Send what you have. An application engineer can help identify what is still needed.
